One of the most important factors to have an influence on the
history art making in Central and Eastern Europe is the mobility of
people, things, and ideas. By researching these mobilities, this
project brings to light intercultural phenomena, migration flows, and
active processes of exchange, in which changes over time –
regarding, for example, artist techniques or training – become
"Artist Mobility in Central and Eastern Europe between 1500 and 1900" is funded by the Deutsch-Polnischen Wissenschaftsstiftung. Over the project's term, 10 scholarship holders were allowed a three month long research stay from April to June, 2015 at both Technischen Universität Berlin and Jagiellonian University Krakow, where they were given full access to resources in order to further their individual research projects and build networks within and between the universities.
